I have had the best possible care and all the medical staff, hospice, and MacMillan nurses have been fantastic, also the O.T. has been very good and helpful.
Went to see my G.P last Sept complaining of stomach ache and tiredness poked my stomach and told me to keep taking paracetnut.Same thing a monty earleir s l rang Glan Clwyd hospital to speak to the stoma nurse she said they don't do examination and back to my GP.He then refered me for an ultrasound scan that found a shadow they then sent me for a CT scan.Where cancer was confirmed, l feel it could have been diagnosed a hot earlier, once l was in the care of the cancer team everything has been done that could a wonderful team.
As far as I know I had the best care for my husband.
Although I had all support from staff, when admitted to A&E, I was treated well however the time factor for allocation of bed (lack of beds) was unsatisfactory resulting in a terminally ill patient, stay in A&E on trolley for almost 24 hrs !! Glan Clwyd could do with more palliative care nurses & beds
I am really pleased with the care and support I have received following my illness. I have received great support from the McMillan Nurse and her team during and after my treatment.
This only what 9 can explain on Mr Hicksons Bebay. When on oramoph and morphine was he truly aware of the syringe driven procedure. Not a critiom, merely a suggestion for other patients to protect your team. Mr Hickson knew the night before and told me it was nearly time and wanted to go. Thanks to your team you made it a peaceful end. Ever grateful Mrs Hickson
The response l give is not very useful as the time from diagnosis to death was so very short, it covers a few days only.
My wife had wish to come home to be with her family-this was achieved by the efforts of the hospital staff and the palliative care team members. It was remarkable that so much was achieved in so short a time.
Given my facility and deafness l was bewildered at times because of so much information being given by so many agencies.
It was right to they care at home but l am not convinced that it would have worked longer team in our case.
